Mackinac(spelled MAK-in-aw) is one of the gorgeous islands with beautiful beaches in the United States of America. Situated in Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes of America, it has a vast history associated with it. This Land of great battles has still a lot of European cultures left within it and thus the uniqueness in culture and architecture. Originally, Michilimackinac which means “Big Turtle” in the Native American language named so after the shape of this island.

Let’s go there –

How to reach?

This island is a favorite one-day destination for all the travelers who ride along the Great Lakes of America. 400 miles from Chicago, it is about a 6-hour beautiful ride along Great Michigan and is about a 4-hour ride from Green Bay, Wisconsin to Mackinac city. And there are a lot of ferry options to complete the journey to the Island from the city.
